KVK-II, Sitapur celebrated World Soil Day on 5th December 2018 at KVK campus. Shri Arvind Mohan Mishra DD Ag, Sitapur was the chief guest of the program and Dr D.K.Singh, Veterinary Officer, Manpur (Sitapur) was the special guest on the occasion. During the inaugural address, Shri Mishra, focused primaririly on soil health management issue for the doubling of farmers income by 2022 and highlited about the importance of green manuring, Vermi-composting and use of Bio-fertilizers in the field before cropping. Dr D.K.Singh, vetiranary officer emphasiszed on importance of Farm Yard Manure and Cow urine in context to doubling of farmer’s income. Shri Shiv Shukla, Area Manager IFFCO, Sitapur address on applicaton of liquid biofertilizer formulations for soil health improvement and soil nutrient management. A quiz completion of soil health manegment was also organized by Dr Anand Singh, Head, KVK-II, Sitapur during the occasion and 10 best farmers were awarded by special prize as distributed by Bio-fertilizer and Bio-pesticides kit. An exhibition on awakening of soil testing and soil health card was also organized during the occasion. All the farmers actively participated in the programme and get their report about soil health in the form of Soil Health Card. A total 239 farmers participated in the programme and each were supplied 250 ml BIO-NPK formulation by Shri Sachin Pratap Tomar, Scientist, Soil Science, KVK-II, Sitapur for application under rabi crops. Soil Health Card distributed to 180 Farmers during the occaision. Shri Sailendra Singh, Scientist Extension expressed vote of thanks to the participants.
